Currently, Felipe leads the development of press materials in English and Spanish for distribution to media serving Hispanic and general market audiences at The Media Network, a Social Marketing and Communications firm based in the Washington D.C. area. Clients that he has worked for include the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), National Institutes of Health (NIH) Administration on Aging (AoA), U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the National Institutes of Health (NHTSA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG).
Felipe has an extensive knowledge of Hispanic media outlets and key players, and he conducts pitches to Hispanic print media, resulting in placements of earned media pieces in Hispanic media outlets across the country. Drawing upon his Hispanic origin and journalism background, Felipe easily establishes relationships with other journalists serving the Hispanic community in the United States.
Back in Mexico, his home country, Felipe became a national columnist in Mexico at age 23, largely because of an important role in news coverage of the 2000 U.S. and Mexican presidential elections while working with Grupo Reforma (Mexico’s largest print media organization) in the Washington D.C. bureau. He wrote for 7 years weekly column entitled “Rapsodia Política” (Political Rhapsody) for Novedades de Mexico (national circulation), and later for Intolerancia Diario and Periódico Cambio (regional circulation).
Felipe has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (Mexico) and a Diploma on Political Journalism from Georgetown University.
